Tight Screws are modifications on standard tension rods designed to eliminate the de-tuning that happens when one area of the drum is consistently and forcefully struck. One side of the rod has been milled by 1 millimeter, and filled with a rubber/nylon composite material; this material increases the amount of surface tension and friction between the rod and the lug. The best part about these tension rods compared to other tension-locking devices is that they do not change the visual aesthetic of the drum in any way.
